Bacon Egg and Cheese French Toast on a Croissant Bun
10 mins prepServes 2
Discover a delightful Bacon Egg and Cheese French Toast served on a croissant bun. This recipe combines crispy bacon, fluffy eggs, melted provolone and gouda cheese, all nestled in sweet, cinnamon-vanilla French toast croissant buns.
1. Cook 4 slices of bacon. You can bake them in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes, flipping at the 15-minute mark, or fry them in a skillet if preferred.
2. In a bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs, 1/4 cup heavy cream, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon until well mixed.
3. Take your croissant buns and thoroughly coat them in the prepared egg wash.
4. Heat 1-2 tablespoons of butter and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the egg-washed croissant buns on both sides until golden brown and cooked through.
5. Cook the remaining 2 eggs in the skillet. Season them to your liking with Tony Chachere’s seasoning and black pepper.
6. To assemble, place a slice of provolone cheese on the bottom half of each cooked croissant bun.
7. Add the cooked eggs, bacon, and a slice of Gouda cheese.
8. Place the top half of the croissant bun over the filling and enjoy your sandwich!
