Easy and delicious sticky honey chipotle chicken bites made with chicken tenders marinated in buttermilk and hot sauce, then coated in a flavorful flour mixture and fried to golden perfection. A sticky honey chipotle sauce adds the finishing touch.
Step 1: Clean chicken tenders, pat dry with a paper towel, and cut into bite-sized pieces.
Step 2: In a bowl, mix buttermilk, hot sauce, egg, seasoning, chipotle chili pepper, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Marinate chicken for 30 minutes.
Step 3: For the flour mixture, mix AP flour, Tony Chachere’s seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, chipotle chili powder, and black pepper until well combined.
Step 4: Coat marinated chicken bites in the flour mixture and set aside on a wire rack or plate for 10 minutes.
Step 5: Fry chicken bites in 350-degree oil until golden brown.
Step 6: In a skillet, combine honey, soy sauce, diced chipotle peppers, rice vinegar, and chopped garlic on low to medium heat. Stir until well combined.
Step 7: Pour the sauce over the chicken bites and serve immediately. Note that the sauce will become sticky as it cools.
